The YMCA has offered health and fitness programs for people of all ages, incomes and abilities for many years. The focus is on overall wellness, empowering you to tailor your own plan toward healthier living by choosing how you will accomplish your wellness goals. The whole approach means you have many options and lots of support as you choose your path to a healthier new you!

Fitness Classes
Each session the YMCA offers a variety of fitness classes. The classes are open to all, but offered at a reduced rate to members. If you want to be healthier, feel great and meet new people our classes are for you! Listed below is a sampling of classes we offer. Click on fitness schedule to view the current session.

Boot Camp: An  intense, total-body, callisthenic workout

Zumba: A fusion of Latin & international music that mixes body sculpting movements w/ fun, easy to follow dance steps 

Drums Alive:  Combines dynamic moves of cardio classes with rhythms of the drum using drum sticks & stability balls.

Hooping: Build strong core muscles with this low-impact, high-energy workout that uses weighted “hoola” hoops. 

Steps, Step’n Sculpt:  A cardio steps class plus some strengthening exercises gives you a total body workout.                           

Total Toning : This is a total-body strengthening workout that will target & tone ALL major muscle groups through the use of a variety of resistance training equipment.                          

Cardio Mix: A variety of cardio class genres...could be steps, floor cardio, kickboxing, double steps,  etc.    

 Have A Ball: a challenging strength workout using stability balls.  It’s a safe, yet extremely effective total-body workout.

Mind and Body Classes

Yoga
The physical benefits of yoga include muscle strength & balance, skeletal alignment, increased range of motion,
improved coordination and inner awareness. The class is geared towards beginner-intermediate, teaching the fundamental asanas (postures) of yoga. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a sticky mat if you have one.

Pilates –Style
This class uses mat techniques to
strengthen the body’s core & improve flexibility. By improving the core’s stability & mobility you improve movement in all activities, whether they’re routine daily activities or sporting/athletic activities. Instructor of class @ Zion Lutheran Church requires a receipt of paid Fitness Class Fee.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi Chuan is a low impact nonaerobic
exercise routine developed from the internal Chinese martial arts. Fundamental martial arts movements are done slowly & deliberately with emphasis on balance and control. It promotes strength & resilience in the legs as well as flexibility, balance & general health.

Personal Training
Obesity & inactivity claim more than 300,000 lives annually, and the financial
impact on the country is staggering. The need for personal trainers is clear. The YMCA has certified personal trainers available to help you. Let us help you help yourself. Personal training offers scheduling flexibility, individual attention, nutritional coaching, stress management, and lifestyle
coaching. See improvements in endurance, flexibility, muscle tone & strength, fat loss, and heart/lung function.

Free Body Comp
Members can receive a free initial body
composition analysis. All future body comps will be charged the usual fee.

Personal Start
This personal training program has you
meeting with a personal trainer for two hours. Your first hour will involve a complete fitness analysis in order to determine your current level of fitness. Based on your goals and the results of your analysis, your trainer will create a 6-week program custom-made for you. The second hour will be spent going
through your program to make sure you understand all of its components. You are then able to work out on your own during your six-week program.

Group Personal Training
The perfect fit for members who are ready to try personal training but not quite ready for the commitment of one-on-one and the related cost. The group will be limited to a minimum of 2 & a maximum of 4 participants. The program meets 2X/wk for a total of 14 sessions with a certified personal trainer. This program is the most
cost-efficient method of personal training. Take your training to the next level!

Fitness 4 Life
This is a 10-week personal training program. You will meet with your trainer 2 times each week for 10 consecutive weeks. Along with the in-depth one-on-one that you’ll get with your trainer you will receive a log-book filled with pages that you and your trainer will use to keep you on track and motivated. This program is an exceptional way to use personal training to help you achieve your desired goals in regards to your health and well-being. This program is also a cost-efficient way to use personal training for 20 sessions (2X/wk for 10 wks).

Body Composition Analysis
You can set up your private appointment
with a certified personal trainer to accurately determine your body fat percentage and lean body weight. You will have the option of using either the electrical impedance method or the skinfold caliper method. This will give you a baseline so that you can properly determine fitness improvements…changes in body weight do not give the clear picture!
Cost: Members $6
Non-Members $12

Women On Weights
Learn how to feel “at home” in the Free Weight Room. Learn free weight exercises, how to develop a program based on your goals, and learn weight room etiquette. You will also learn how to use the cardiovascular machines, allowing for a complete workout. You will learn the “why” as well as the “how”.
The class requires a minimum of 2, maximum of 6 participants.
