The Superior Douglas County Family YMCA reopened in a planned phase approach, with Phase 1 beginning Monday, June 1st . Drafts that were frozen during our time of closure will automatically resume on members' regular draft dates starting with the June 1st and June 15th drafts.

COMMUNITY HEALTH FREEZE – However, if you are not ready to come back, you may continue to place your membership on a freeze by filling out this form While your membership is frozen, you may not utilize the YMCA facility or receive membership benefits.

A minimum 5 day notice prior to your bank draft is required. Please submit this form by May 26th if you draft on the 1st and by June 10th if you draft on the 15th.

CANCEL MEMBERSHIP – You may cancel your membership by stopping in and filling out a cancelation form or emailing stating you wish to cancel. Please include your name, address, and cancellation reason in your email. Your cancellation must be emailed at least 5 days prior to your bank draft date.

We will continue our normal membership bank drafts. We are also offering virtual fitness classes for all ages by accessing our YouTube channel.

Memberships are automatically bank drafted each month from a checking/savings account, or credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover). For bank draft memberships, your first payment will be prorated depending on the joining date. Memberships in 3, 6, or 12 month increments can be paid in full. All membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Cancellations require a 15 day written notice. Cancellation forms are available at the Member Services front desk.


Through the generosity of many individuals, Y staff, Y board members, and businesses contributing to our Annual Support Campaign and United Way, the YMCA is able to offer financial assistance for memberships and programs.

If you are interested in receiving financial assistance for membership or programs, please fill out the Financial Assistance Appliation for Membership and Programming and return to Northwest Wisconsin Community Services Agency located at 1118 Tower Ave, Superior (715) 392-5127. This is the first step in the financial assistance program.

You will need to provide the following documents in order to have your application processed:

  • Most current taxes (W2 for each wage earner in the household)
  • Proof of all income for the past 30 days; including pay stubs, child support, financial aid, other assistance, for all household members. Be sure to include proof of income: without it, your application may not be processed.

If approved, you will receive an approval letter via email or mail from the YMCA in approximately 2 weeks. Financial assistance memberships are valid for 6 months. The month prior to your expiration date, you will recieve a renewal notice in the mail. You may reapply using the same process 2-3 weeks prior to your expiration date.

If you are looking for YMCA Childcare or camp but are unable to afford the full cost, you may be eligible to receive financial assistance. The first step is to complete an APPLICATION FOR CHILDCARE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE found on our website or in our lobby and return it to Kim, our Childcare Director. Please allow two weeks for processing.

If you are approved, you will be contacted by Kim. After you have been contacted, you may register for childcare/camp. If you have any questions about the financial assistance program for childcare or camp please contact Kim, our Childcare Director, at 715-392-5611 EXT 101 or

The Y partners with Health Partners, Medica, Preferred One, SilverSneakers, and Silver&Fit for special benefits. Check with your insurance provider for more information and to determine if you are eligible.


For locker rental add $10 per month, per adult. We have discontinued towel service indefinitely.


The Department of Defense and the ASYMCA have Military Memberships that address the needs of families of deployed military personnel who live far from a military installation and require access to community, health and well-being programming.

Who is Eligible?

Title 10 personnel are eligible for a Y membership, including:

  • Family members of deployed National Guard and Reservists
  • Active Duty Independent Duty personnel and their families
  • Relocated spouse/dependent children of deployed Active Duty personnel

Visit to confirm your eligibilty and find out more about the ASYMCA DoD Military Outreach Initiative. Then, fill out a Military Outreach Initiative - YMCA Membership Application and return it to the YMCA Member Services desk with your contact information clearly added on the front page. The Membership Director will contact you regarding your application.

If you are not eligible for the ASYMCA Military Outreach Initiative, but are on Active Duty status, we will waive the Joiner Fee for Active Duty Military.
