Our 4K program, in partnership with the Superior School District, is returning for the 2024-2025 school year! This program is open for children who are age 4 by September 1 that reside in the Superior School District. Families interested in enrolling their child at the YMCA 4K site must first register for the program through the district and select the YMCA as their preferred location. You can register through the district here.
The 4K program portion of the day, led by licensed teachers, runs from 8:40 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. During this time, children will engage in a variety of activities designed to foster their development. These activities include:
Large group activities to encourage social interaction and cooperation.
Small group projects to enhance collaboration and teamwork.
Centers for hands-on exploration and discovery.
Activities that promote social-emotional skills, problem-solving abilities, self-help skills, creativity, and both large and small motor skills.
Cognitive activities focusing on literacy, math, science, and social studies to lay a strong foundation for future learning.
We understand the importance of providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for your child's early education, and our program is designed to support their growth and development in all areas.
WRAP-AROUND CARE
In addition to our 4K program, we offer Wrap-Around Care for 4K students at the YMCA and Cooper Elementary to provide families with extended care options. Wrap-Around Care is available from 7:00 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., accommodating working parents' schedules. The cost for Wrap-Around Care is $156 per week for the school year, with weekly payments due on Fridays through automatic bank or credit/debit card draft.
At the YMCA, we are committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care that meets the needs of our families. We look forward to welcoming your child into our program and supporting their journey of growth and learning. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE
Income eligibility requirements for the Wisconsin Shares program have increased. By increasing income limits, more Wisconsin families will be able to get help paying for child care. We want to help families access affordable quality care! Visit the Wisconsin Shares parent webpage and click on Income Eligibility Increase to learn more.
