EVERYONE SWIMS, EVERYONE WINS!
We believe this philosophy is perfect for our swim team program. It helps build confidence in all swimmers, regardless of age or experience, because we understand that there's more to being a truly successful swimmer than just finishing first. Caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are the four core values of our team that we promote through positive coaching techniques, parental involvement, and peer mentoring. Our program focuses on fundamentals, mechanics, and sportsmanship.
POSITIVE IMPACT
Our swim team is more than just another sport for your child to spend time on. We believe that being a Whaler means more than that! Keeping in mind our three areas of focus, the impact this team makes will be seen at home, in the classroom, and in the community that each of us calls home! Our belief is that every program we offer must promote Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The Whalers' Swim Team accomplishes this goal by learning about teamwork, sportsmanship, and how to properly represent The Y at swim meets, at school, and in the community.
COMPETITION RULES
The Superior YMCA Whalers Swim Team is part of the Minnesota YMCA Competitive Swim League. The league and our team adhere to guidelines endorsed by the YMCA and the 'Rules that Govern YMCA Competitive Sports.' A copy of these guidelines and rules is available upon request
