Superior YMCA Community Garden
The Superior YMCA Community Garden was created with a simple mission — to grow healthy, fresh food and share it freely with our community. Anyone is welcome to take what they need, no questions asked.
To ensure our produce grows to its full potential and is harvested safely, only YMCA staff and designated volunteers pick fruits and vegetables from the garden. Once harvested, the fresh produce is brought inside the Y and placed in a designated area for community members to take home.
By providing easy access to fresh produce, we hope to support our neighbors and help reduce food insecurity in Douglas County. This garden is more than just a place to grow vegetables — it’s a place to grow community, compassion, and connection.
We are grateful to the UW–Madison Extension FoodWIse Program for their generous grant, which made this project possible. Their support helps us provide fresh, nutritious food for those who need it most.
